Jack S. Hively
Age 69, of Perry Township, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, in Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born in Pleasant City, Guernsey Co., Ohio, a son of the late Virgil and Velma (King) Hively, and was a Canton resident most of his life. Jack was a 1962 graduate of Timken Vocational High School, and was retired from the Timken Co., after 35 years service, where he was a hot bed operator. He was a member of McKinley Eagles #2370, and Golden Lodge #1123 United Steelworkers of America, AFL-CIO. Jack coached baseball in the Whipple Heights Baseball Association, was a Perry High School athletic booster, and an avid OSU fan.
Preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Hively. Survived by the mother of his children and caregiver, Linda Hively; one daughter and son- in-law, Janet and Mark Copeland, of Perry Township; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brett and Beth Hively, of Cumming, Ga., and Brad and Nikki Hively, of Perry Township; six grandchildren, Halle and Logan Copeland, Matthew and Megan Hively, and Alex and Samantha Hively; one sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Mike Craney, of Canton; one niece, Melissa (Duane) Leininger, of Perry Township; and his beloved dog, Zak.
Services will be held Monday, at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Edward M. Fashbaugh II officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Sunday 2-5 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home.
