James L. "Jim" Pappas

James L. 'Jim' Pappas
age 62 of Canton, passed away Thursday evening. He was born in Canton to the late Louis and Clara Pappas. A 1968 graduate of Lincoln High School he attended Kent State University. Jim was a welding instructor at Springfield High School and Portage Lake Career Center before retirement. He was a member of the Canton Lincoln Alumni Association, Iota Lamba Sigma Delta Chapter, and the American Welding Society. He was a proud father whose deepest joy came from being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kay (Hummel) Pappas; sons and daughter-in-law, Jim and Michelle Pappas, Jason Pappas, all of Canton; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Nick Liossis; sister, Annette Pappas, all of Canton; brother, Louis Pappas of Canton; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home where Trisagion Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. PRIVATE burial services will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Jim's name may be made to the Aultman Compassionate Care Center or the Canton Lincoln Alumni Association. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the caring friends at Portage Lakes Career Center.
