James O. Roberts
age 72, of Canton, passed away in his home on Saturday, March 2, 2013. He was born July 24, 1940 in Carrollton, Ohio to the late James L. and Gladys (Saunders) Roberts. Jim was retired from the Timken Co. He was an Army Veteran. He was a member of Louisville Eagles # 2374, the Louisville VFW #7490 and the Louisville American Legion Post #548, where he had been an active member of the Color Guard. Jim was also an avid fisherman and formed many friendships through his love of fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Evanosky) Roberts; four daughters, Lee Roberts, Beth (Randy) Fouts all of Louisville, Jo Lewis and Michele Maley both of Canton; one son, Brian Maley of Canton; two sisters, Lorraine Cain of Columbus, Dolores (Ed) McGary of Cardington, Ohio; eight grandchildren, James, Danielle, Calista, Adam, Jack, Jake, Carleen and Rachel.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville with Rev. Bruce Hitchcock officiating. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before services on Wednesday at the funeral home. James will be buried with full military honors in Warstler Cemetery, Canton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Louisville American Legion Color Guard, 925 W. St. Louis Ct, Louisville, Ohio 44641.
