Jean Belew, born June 14, 1936, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008, in the comfort of her home with the love of her family by her side after a
courageous battle with cancer. Jean was a life-long resident of Akron. She graduated from South High and went on to earn her college degree at Kent State University. She worked for the Manchester and Barberton School Districts as an elementary school teacher. Jean loved her life and all it had to offer. She enjoyed her retirement by traveling in her air stream trailer, spending her last winters in Florida. Jean loved collecting and selling antiques found at garage sales and flea markets. She also enjoyed spending time with her wonderful friends. Jean leaves behind and will be sadly missed by her husband, Charles Ralph Belew; daughter, Kelle (Dr. Mark Pluskota); sons, Tom Aleman (Debbie), John Aleman (Linda); along with her grandchildren, Ryan (Joann), Matthew, Christopher, Allison and Dominic Pluskota, Sean Aleman, Elizabeth, Danielle, Michael and Jacob Aleman; great-grandchild, Reese Pluskota; stepchildren, Renee (Mark) Smith and Travis Belew; and special "sister", Daneen Pitts. Calling hours and Memorial Service will be held, SATURDAY, June 28, from 1-4 p.m at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton) with an open house reception immediately following calling hours at the home of John Aleman, 8078 Fayette Avenue, NW, Massillon, OH 44646.
