age 81 of Massillon, passed away early Wednesday morning. Born in Canton to the late Joseph W. Sr. and Ruby (DeSerio) Gennett he was preceded in death by his brother, Guy Gennett. Joe was a 1949 graduate of Timken Vocational High School. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Parish, charter member of the Perry Fire Department #3 and a lifetime member of the Pioneer's. He retired from Ameritech after 36 years as an engineer. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survived by his wife of 55 years, Dolores (Cachat) Gennett; children, Jo L. and Steve Rohr of Virginia, Theresa Gennett, Joseph G. and Christine Gennett, Deanna L. and Brent Skogen, all of Florida, Darlene Gennett of Ohio; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Pauline Gennett of Canton, Barbara Stocker of North Canton; brother-in-law, William Turner of Massillon; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Parish with Rev. Fr. William Kraynak celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Joe's name may be made to St. Joan of Arc Church, Salvation Army or a .
