Lawrence K. 'Larry' Nightingale
age 84, of Jackson Township, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014. He was born July 31, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Valentine and Anna (Mueller) Nightingale. Larry was an Army veteran who was stationed in Alaska during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Nationwide Insurance, where he served as vice president. Larry was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish. He was very athletic and health conscious, and was active at Aultman North.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gene (Kiernan) Nightingale; children, Cynthia Leigh of Charlotte, N.C., Joan (Donald) Moore of Williamsburg, Va., Thomas Nightingale of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Patrick Nightingale of Pittsburgh, Pa; grandchildren, Michelle, Jacquelyn, Bryan, Jordon, Austin, Perrin, and Anderson 'Mac'; great-grandchildren, Callie, Landon, and Seadon; sisters, LaVerne Bobal, and Shirley Roman; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kathryn Nightingale; and his sister, Arlene Genutis.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3430 St. Michael Dr. NW, Canton. Friends may call Friday from 1-2 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, PO Box 9460, Canton, OH 44711-9460. Arrangements under the direction of Karlo-Libby Funeral Home.
