M. William "Bill" Dishong, Jr.
Age 59, of Canton and formerly of Florida, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2012 in Altercare of Louisville. He was born in Canton on Aug. 13, 1953 to Vera and the late William Dishong, Sr. Bill was a 1972 graduate of Oakwood High School and Aultman School of Nursing. He had been employed at Massillon Community Hospital and Absolute Health Services in North Canton. Bill had been a forensics investigator with the Stark County Coroners office, under Dr. Pritchard and Dr. Murthy. He and his wife had owned Bill's Barn Drive Thru for several years. Bill had been a volunteer fireman with the Plain Twp. Fire Department for 10 years and also volunteered with the American Red Cross. He was preceded in death by his wife of 18 years, Diane Dishong, on Jan. 11, 2001; father, William Dishong, Sr. on Jan. 24, 1992; and his brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Ruth Dishong on Dec. 18, 1983.
Bill is survived by his mother, Vera M. Dishong and his son, Jeffrey Dishong, both of Canton.
In accordance with Bill's wishes, there will be no public services. The family would like to thank the staff at Altercare of Louisville for their loving care this past year and more recently The Harbor Light Hospice.
