Margaret 'Peg' Barnhill
age 98, passed away Saturday afternoon. She was born May 12, 1914 in Sherrodsville, Ohio daughter to the late Herman and Laura (Lucas) Tidrick. She was a graduate of McKinley High School and retired from the city of Canton in 1977 following 15 years of service and a former employee of Ohio Bell. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and AARP. In her youth, she was a well- known athlete playing on the Rainbow Basketball Team which competed in the National AAU in Wichita, Kan. She won several city and county singles tennis titles, as a mixed doubles and ladies doubles. She also bowled in A and B leagues.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph D. Barnhill; brother, Robert Tidrick and sisters, Dorothy Rininger, Daisy Smith and Loretta Tidrick. She is survived by her loving son and daughter- in-law, James and Linda Barnhill and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Bethel Lutheran Church with The Rev. Dr. Darla Ann Kratzer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church.
