Michael A. Rosso
age 96, of Canton passed away Friday afternoon April 19, 2013 in New Dawn Retirement Community in Dover following a brief illness. He was born March 26, 1917 in Canton and resided at the same residence since his birth. He was the son of the late Antonio and Antoinette Rosso. Michael was a member of Saint Anthony's Catholic Church and retired from Babcock and Wilcox. He enjoyed golfing and gardening. Michael was proud to serve as a Master Sergeant from September 1939 to September 1945 in the Army Air Corps during World War II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Ostapuck, Sylvia Masterana and Pauline Kinsley; brother, Peter Rosso.
He is survived by nieces and nephews, Michael (Connie) Rosso of Florida, Mary Ann (Uno) Carlsson of Maryland, Peter Rosso of Elyria, John A. (Linda) Ostapuck of Dover, Annette (David) Rosenberger of North Canton, Michael (Sandra) Burkhard, Gregory (Kathy) Kinsley, Diane Serdinak, all of Canton; numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church with Fr. Tom Bishop as celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday morning 9-9:45 a.m. in the Williams Funeral Home.
