Monica Logan
age 88, passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 peacefully in her sleep. She was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Halifax Nova Scotia, the daughter of the late Heber Meredith and Olivia Stockdale (Tucker) Logan. Monica served as a Lieutenant the Canadian Women's Army Corps during World War II from 1942 through 1945. She retired as an educational administrator from the University of Hartford and previously at Endicott College. Monica was a volunteer with the Salvation Army, and she enjoyed traveling, yoga, swimming, reading and antiques.
Monica is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Sue Williams of Hampden, Maine, Cliff and Sally Williams of Massillon, Dalzell and Karen Williams of Hampton, N.H.; three grandchildren, Monica Elizabeth, Bailey, and Patrick. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Birchall and brother, Ian Logan.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8 at Heitger Funeral Service–Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. NW, at 12 noon with Rev. Cal Hamblin officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salvation Army, 315 Sixth Street NE, Massillon, OH 44646.
