Nancy Jane Martin (nee Bell)
born Feb. 5, 1927 in Mt. Kisco, N.Y. died Aug. 17 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Elwell Hiram Bell and Linda Augusta Stiebling Bell. A longtime resident of Canton Ohio, Nancy was a physical therapist and member of Christ Presbyterian Church. She was active for many years with the Animal Protection Guild (SNAP), the Wilderness Center and Carroll County Historical Society. She was a graduate of Furman University with a masters degree from Duke University. Preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Martin in 1986, parents, and a sister, Marcia Bell Crouch. They were owners of Martin Pharmacy on Market Avenue.
Survived by her son, Charles F. Martin (Atsuko) of Tokyo, Japan; two grandchildren, Abigail M. Martin of Seattle and Patrick H. Martin of Washington DC; and numerous nephews and nieces.
