Norma (Hole) Ambler-May, age 89, of Minerva, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, in Aultman Hospital. She was born May 17, 1919 in Minerva, to James and Mary (Betz) Hole. She retired as a cook for Minerva Local Schools; and worked as a Meter Reader for the Village of Minerva. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, prayer breakfast; past president of the Don V. Cross American Legion Post #357 Auxiliary, member of the "Busy Bees", the mother of twins club, the AARP, the Minerva Garden Club, Minerva Meals on Wheels and was active in the Senior Center Card Club. She is survived by her husband, Paul May whom she married in 1989; three daughters: Carolyn Bartley of Canton, Arlene Phillips of Minerva, Judy (Frank) Dorosky of Canton; two sons, James (Barbara) Ambler of Elyria, Robert (Julie) Ambler of Oconomowoc, Wisc.; a step daughter, Susan Miller of Canton; 10 grandchildren, six step grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, John Ambler; a sister, Roxie Stahler; a brother, Emmet Hole. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minerva, with Pastor John Luoma officiating. Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Gotschall Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva, and one hour prior to services at the church.
