Oscar Charles 'O.C.' Garrett
age 89, passed away on Jan. 20, 2013. He was born on April 2, 1923 in Mayland, Tenn. to Walter and Willie 'Happy' (Abston) Garrett. O.C. retired from P.P.G. Industries with 37 1/2 years of service, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses Massillon West since 1951.
Preceded in death by his parents; great-grandchild, Owen Michael Garrett; brothers, Floyd, Walter Jr., Odell, and Otis Garrett; sister, Essie Mae 'Bootsie' Whal. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Selma; daughter, Barbara J. (Larry) Patterson; sons, Richard C. Garrett, Daniel A. Garrett, Timothy M. (Jean) Garrett, David P. Garrett; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold Garrett, Lloyd 'Skeeter' Garrett, Cordell Garrett; sisters, Kathy Hammock, Stella Mae 'Tootsie' Robinson, Carol Handwerk.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, 44230 with Rudy Rex officiating.
