'Together Again'Paul Chovan
age 94, of Massillon passed away at Amherst Meadows Friday Oct. 18, 2013. Born in Massillon Feb. 28, 1919 he was a son to the late John and Mary (Elavsky) Chovan. Paul was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran and had worked at the former McLain Grocery Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Massillon V.F.W. Post # 3124.
His wife, Phyllis died April 25, 2013; also preceding him were his daughter, Janice King; his sisters, Helen Royer and Ann Beazley; and his brothers, John, Edward and Michael Chovan. He leaves behind three sons, Duane L. (Jeannae) Chovan, and Kenneth W. (Peggy) Chovan, both of Massillon and Gary P. (Donna) Chovan of Charlottesville, Va; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Bierman of Fairfax, Va, and Lydia Urbas of Rockville, Md; brothers, William Chovan of Sylva, N. C., and Daniel Chovan of Toledo.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 22 at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon with DR. Roger Alber officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church. The on-line guest registry may be placed at
