Robert L. Watts
85, of Lake Cable, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 1, 2013. Born in Massillon, July 13, 1927, the son of the late Milo and Lottie (Evans) Watts, Robert graduated from Jackson High School with the Class of 1945. He served in the US Navy prior to graduating from the Ohio State University in 1951, and then began a 41 year career as an Industrial Engineer with Diebold, Inc. He had been an active member of Church of the Lakes for more than 50 years and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, travel, a good game of cards, and the company of family and friends. More recently, he also looked forward to time spent with the Lake Cable and Diebold Retirees.
Preceded in death by his parents and dear stepmother, Grace I. (Evans) Watts. Robert is survived by his wife, Lois M. (Roberts) Watts; their children, Terri (Bill) Hane of Massillon and Gary Watts of North Canton; and grandchildren, Stephanie (Robby) Strock and Justin Hane.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Church of the Lakes United Methodist Church. Dr. Bryan George, Senior Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be private. Family and friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. The family has suggested memorial donations made in care of The Bell Choir at Church of the Lakes or The Canton Calvary Mission, 1345 Gibbs Ave. N.E., Canton, OH 44705.
