Age 83, of Louisville, went Home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, following a period of declining health. He was born Aug. 16, 1930, in Canton, the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Farkus) Regas. Steve was a graduate of East Canton High School Class of 1948, an alumnus of Bowling Green University, Ohio State University and the University of Akron where he received his law degree. He proudly served his country as an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Steve retired from Republic Steel in 1987 and was a long-time member of Canton Gospel Center/Firestone Road Baptist Church in North Canton.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Doris (Royer) Regas; children: Sharon Bordean of Columbus, Ron (Elaine) Regas of Uniontown, Shelly (Bob) Untch of Massillon and Roxanne (Dan) Kane of Bolivar; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and cousin, Sam (Patty) Regas. In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by brothers John and Jim Regas; and son-in-law, Eugene Bordean Jr. The family would like to thank the staff of Hartville Community Care Givers and Aultman Compassionate Care Center for their love and care of Steve.
A Memorial Service will be held for Steve at Grace Church, 4808 Tallmadge Road in Rootstown on Saturday, March 22nd., at 2:00 p.m. Family will receive guests from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Church Missionary Fund.
