Thomas P. Babcock
age 62, of Canton, passed away Sunday. Born in Canton to the late Thomas J. and Therese (Parsay) Babcock he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Heichel. Tom was a 1970 graduate of Timken Vocational High School. He attended Muskingum College. He was a US Navy veteran. Tom loved gardening and grew beautiful flowers and amazing tomatoes. He retired in 2000 as a Captain from the Canton Fire Department.
Survived by his wife of 42 years, Karen (Fries) Babcock; daughters, Spring Babcock, Marcie Britt; son, Patrick (Kim) Babcock; eight grandchildren; sisters, Rosemary (Joe) Weiss, Judy (Henry) Priskulnik, Wanda (Tony) Manko; nieces, nephews and his beloved Bichon's Sam and Sadie.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home. The Last Alarm Service will be held at 6 p.m. followed by a Memorial service. Respecting Tom's wishes he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations for the funeral expenses.
