Wilbur A. "Bob" Haidet

Wilbur A. 'Bob' Haidet
age 92 of Louisville, passed away May 21, 2013 at the Inn of Belden Village. Bob was born March 31, 1921 in Marlboro, the son of the late Alonzo and Florence (Wey) Haidet. He retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1979 where he worked as a welder. Bob proudly served his country as an Army veteran of World War II while on the front lines of the European Theatre welding and repairing damaged tanks. He was a member of the Louisville Eagles, VFW, American Legion, Knights of Columbus and lifetime member of the Lake P'Na Sportsman's Club. Bob was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Betty Jane (Charlton) Haidet whom he married Aug. 22, 1942; seven daughters, Diane (Dan) Hoover of Lancaster, Judy (Doug) Perry of Flowery Branch, GA, Sandy (Chester) Wenger of Carrollton, Theresa Donato of Massillon, Joanne (John) Dahler of Massillon, Tina (Chuck) Dazey of Louisville and Debbie (Mike) DeOrio of Carrollton; a son, William Haidet of Beaver, Ohio; two brothers, Theodore and Raymond Haidet; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Paul, Kenneth, Harold and Benedict and a sister, Catherine Magyaros, precede him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 12 p.m. in Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Mancini and Bob's grandson, Rev. Fr. Matthew Hoover officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Bob's family will receive friends Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville.
