Ann M. Haas Obituary
Ann M. Haas 1944-2017
Ann M. Haas, age 73, passed away June 1, 2017. She was born to the late Raymond and Alice (Lenhart) Baughman on Feb. 10, 1944. Ann attended St. Paul's Catholic School and graduated from Fairless High School. She was employed by Timken Mercy Hospital as a data processor for nearly 30 years. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Franklin for many years. Returning to her Catholic faith, she has been a member of St. Louis / Sacred Heart of Mary Parishes since 2006. Family and friends were Ann's passion and delight. She enjoyed family gatherings, bus trips, playing cards and adventures with her Red Hat girls. Her greatest joy was boasting about her children and grandchildren.
Married to Warren J. Haas in 1966, they moved to the farm in Paris, Ohio, which remains the family home today. Together they raised two children, Cheryl and Joe. In 1986, they expanded the family be becoming the guardians of Valerie, Ronnie and Roland Mayforth. Ann will be remembered as a kind, friendly woman. Her positive attitude served her well, especially when cancer invaded her body. Her 11-year battle took a toll on her body, but never her kind, selfless spirit. Knowing she was going Home to her Heavenly Father brought great peace to her and those who love her. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by a younger brother, Lester Baughman.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her husband, Warren; children: Cheryl (Jeffrey) Rich, Joseph (Jeannette) Haas, Valerie (Brian) Sutton, Ronald Mayforth and Roland Mayforth; grandchildren: Joel, Allison, Shem, Nathan, Daniel, Reese, Cole, Alexa, and Hadley; and brothers, George Baughman and Paul (Patricia) Baughman. A special thank you to Mercy Hospice who gave Ann such compassionate care at the end of her life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to this wonderful organization.
Ann's family will receive friends Monday from (TONIGHT) 6-8 p.m. at the Paquelet–Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. Her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg, with Fr. Nicholas Mancini officiating. She will be laid to rest in St. Louis Parish Cemetery.
