Ann Marie Evans Obituary
Ann Marie Evans
age 82, went to be with her husband Richard Evans on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017. She had her loving family by her side. Ann was born at Mercy Hospital in Canton, Ohio on Feb. 6, 1935 to the late Owen S. Hand Sr. and Catherine (Curran) Hand.
She is preceded in death by her husband Richard A. Evans; daughter Marianne Coulter; brother Dr. Owen S. Hand Jr.; sisters Patricia Krause, Mary Harvey and Virginia Baumer. She is survived by her beloved dog Daisy; son James (Grace) Evans; granddaughters Chelsea (Matt) Jenkins, Courtney (Mark) Bez and Carissa (Jesus) Zamora; great grandchildren Kayleigh, Sean, Hunter, Emma and Mya; son in law Brian Coulter and many treasured friends. Ann grew up in Canton, Ohio and graduated in 1953 from Central Catholic High School where she formed many friendships that lasted a lifetime. One week after graduation Club 53 was formed and Ann was proudly a part of this group of card playing friends that still get together.
Friendships were very dear to Ann and they meant the world to her. Ann was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing golf with her golf buddies. She was competitive in nature and stubborn in life. Traits that her friends and family loved about her. She was use to winning especially at bridge and just the other day took a bag of quarters she had won from cards to the church as a donation. Ann was a devout Catholic and attended mass at St. Paul's in North Canton. Ann was fortunate to be a stay at home mom while her children were young and later worked for Stark Cooling & Heating and then retired in 1997 from Seifert Technologies as a bookkeeper. As active as she was Ann's greatest joy was being with her family and later in life had a special love for her dog Daisy who soon took the #1 spot over her son Jim. Special thanks to Ann's longtime friends Sue and Catena who helped her so she could remain in the comfort of her home. Ann had a zest for life and she will truly be missed.
