Beverly Ann Gress Obituary
Beverly Ann Gress 1946-2017
Beverly Ann Gress, age 70, of “Together Again”
Louisville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly June 7, 2017, at the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness stemming from complications following surgery. She was born Sept. 5, 1946 in Alliance to the late Marvin and Mary Jane (Brown) Johnson. Bev was a graduate of Louisville High School where she played trombone in the school marching band. She earned her Licensed Practical Nursing certificate from Timken Mercy School of Practical Nursing and spent over 40 years caring for the elderly, much of that time at St. Joseph Hospice. She enjoyed doing everything and anything with her best-friend and husband, Bob, especially traveling and spending time at Myrtle Beach where she loved to walk the beach, look for shells and enjoy the beach cuisine. Her hobbies included caring for her yard and tending to her many flowers and plants. Bev cherished the time she spent with her brothers and sisters and their families whom she loved more than words can say and with whom she could not be around without laughter and enjoying life. She loved spending time with her son and daughter and her four grandsons - who could do no wrong in her eyes. Bev was extremely proud of her large extended family and loved following the lives and accomplishments of her numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Bev is survived by her son, Robert (Anne); daughter, Deborah (Joe) Dexter; grandsons: Tommy and Sam Gress and Brandon and Ben Dexter; sisters: Norma (John) Steiner, Mary (John) Spaulding, JoAnne (Dave) Reinhart and Jeannette (Don) Saulsbury; and brother, Mark (companion Laura). In addition to her parents, Bev is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Bob; brother, Jimmy; sisters: Susie Sanderbeck, Theresa Wagner and Margaret Solvey; niece, Justine and mother and father-in-law, Aura Leon and Carl.
Bev's family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville with Fr. Robert Miller officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Parish cemetery. Her family would like to say a special and sincere thank you to Norma Steiner, Mary and John Spaulding, JoAnn and Dave Reinhart and Mark Johnson for the loving and tender care they provided to Bev during her illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Louis Church Capital Fund.
