Bruce T. Hord
age 76, of Jackson Township, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 with the great love of his life, his wife, Tina, by his side. Bruce graduated from Cranbrook (Michigan), had a Bachelor's Degree from Miami University (Ohio) and an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird in Arizona). Married for 51 years, Bruce and Tina had traveled the world together in his job in international sales and marketing. Bruce spent many years volunteering at Junior Achievement, acting as a Guardian Ad Litem, driving for the Red Cross and teaching English to immigrants, where he made many good friends. Bruce's life was prolonged by a kidney transplant in 2001, and he then began volunteering for Life Banc to sign up organ donors.
Bruce is survived by Tina; his son, Erik (Cori) Hord and his daughter, Louise (Jim) Rawlings. "Bubba" had four grandchildren, Libby and Matthew Hord, and Andrew and Kiki Rawlings. He has two brothers, John Hord and Tom (Mary) Hord; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Krister and Pillan Ceder; and several nieces and nephews in Sweden. A special thank you goes out to longtime friend and physician, Donald Zimmerman MD, and his staff. Bruce was blessed with many dear friends who will remember his quick wit, caring nature and good humor.
In lieu of flowers, Bruce would be honored if friends would consider signing up for organ donation, or donating to Life Banc or the Red Cross. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bruce's life on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave., N.W. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. Those wishing to send their condolences or share a fond memory may sign the Reed On-Line Guestbook at
