Rev. Dr. C. Herschel Gammill Obituary
Rev. Dr. C. Herschel Gammill 1942-2017
age 74, was born on Oct. 16, 1942 in Meadville, Miss. On Sunday night, Sept. 10, 2017, Dr. C. Herschel Gammill, who was a Bishop, a life coach, an entrepreneur, an author and an amazing father, finished his work here on earth and took a new assignment in the presence of the Lord! One of the most gifted, compassionate, determined men, quietly & peacefully slipped out of his earth suit and the earthly put on the heavenly! The man that taught his family how to live and how to die and showed them love every day kept the faith in Jesus Christ and fought the good fight. Dad entered a freedom and a glory that has no earthly comparison. He then handed his children a baton called legacy and entrusted his family, his ministry and his work into their hands. Over 58 years of ministry, he planted seven churches and sent out hundreds of spiritual sons and daughters that have planted churches and ministries. The last church that he and his wife Gail planted was Cathedral of Life Ministries in Canton, Ohio, as well as co-founding and building The Inn at Belden Village, an assisted-living development on the church campus. Dad preached in Africa, India, Europe, Asia, North and South America and the Islands. A special thank you goes out to the exceptional compassionate care of the staff of the Inn at Belden Village and in the final hours Crossroads Hospice.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Rev A.D. Gammill Sr. and Maudie Bell Whittington Gammill; grand-baby, Jordan Reed. He is survived by his faithful wife of 55 years, Gail Gammill; son, Dana (Nan) Gammill; daughter, Deana Reed; grandchildren, Michael (Jacee) Gammill, Allison (Hunter) Fowler, Blake Gammill; great-grandchildren, Isabella Fowler and baby Elizabeth Fowler will be born soon; brothers, Proby (Lucille) Gammill, Billy (Sandy) Gammill, Rev A.D. (Diane) Gammill Jr.; beloved canine companion, Dixie and many loving nieces and nephews and extended family members as well as a loving church family.
