Charles W. Emery
age 98, of Massillon died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012. Born in Massillon May 22, 1914 he was the son of the late Harry H. and Lillian Emery. Charles served his country as an Army World War II veteran and worked over 60 years at the former Finefrock Furniture Company. He loved photography and enjoyed transforming black and white photos into beautiful masterpieces by painting them in color. Charles was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where he loved to sing in the choir; his devotion to his faith was exemplified by serving many years on the church council and finance committee. He never failed to cheer on his beloved Massillon Tigers, as he was an avid fan. Charles was also preceded by infant sisters, Mary Jean Emery and Jenny Ruth Emery; another sister, Marie Krieger; and three brothers, William, Luther, and 'Min' Emery.
Surviving are three nieces, Jane Sima of Jackson Twp., Ann Byrd of Massillon, and Paula Specht of California; a nephew, William (Jean) Emery of South Carolina; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7 at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home. Friends may extend their condolences Friday prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park in Canton. The family is very grateful for the tender care provided by both Legends Care Center and Crossroads Hospice and desire to extend a warm THANK YOU.
