52, of Massillon, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born Oct. 6, 1960 in Orlando, Fla., to the late James R. Kasper and the late Nancy D. (Cupit) Harris. David was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country for 14 years. David was a member of the 4th. Squadron, 7th. Calvary. He served in Operation Desert Storm/Shield and in Kuwait and was a Paratrooper in the 82nd. and 101st. Airborne Divisions. David's military commendations include a Purple Heart and two Bronze stars. David later served in the Ohio National Guard, Company B, 216th. Engineer Battalion. He continued his service to his country by joining the U.S. Postal Service and worked in the Massillon area for 12 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Quincy Alise Kasper of South Webster; a son, Benjamin James Kasper of Laurie, Mo.; three brothers:Billy Kasper of St. Cloud, Fla., Bobby Kasper of Orlando, Fla., Danny Kasper of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters: Kelly L. McCarthy of St. Louis, Mo., Cheryl Hazelton of Laurie, Mo., Patti Buckmaster of Coalinga, Calif., and, Tina Motz of Massillon.
Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Military graveside services will be held Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., in The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
