Freddie Lee Gray Obituary
79, of Canton, went home to be
with the Lord, on Friday, October 6,
2017. He was born in Autaugville,
Ala., on September 15, 1938 to the
late Lee and Lizzie Gray. Freddie retired
from Timken Company in 1999
after 32 years of service as a steel
worker. He enjoyed fishing, was
well equipped in knowledge on how
to fix things, helping people financially,
and a list of "if you want to
know", ask Fred. He was also called
"The Rock", and if you knew him
and how he rolled you would understand why. Freddie will be deeply
missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,
Edna Lee Gray; brothers, Prince and Jesse Gray, his sisters, Matilda
Williams and Mary Carter.
He leaves his daughter, Regina Bryant; two sons, Kenneth C. Williams
and Gregory L. Williams; a special relative, Dan (Geneva) Lindsay;
sisters, Essie (Eugene) Miller, Barbara Gray-Williams, special
close friend, Lois Bryant, Mabel Cheatham and Barbara Davis; seven
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other nephews,
nieces and friends.
Funeral services will be this Friday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Missionary
Baptist Church. Elder Kenneth Williams is officiating / eulogist.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on
Friday at the church. The family would like to send a special thank you
to Freddie's special care givers Dennis Mastin and Marilyn Burrows
along with Senior Caring services, Laurels of Massillon, Grace Hospice
and to Pastor Herbert Carpenter pastor of Mt. Pleasant Missionary
