Gordon E. McFarren 1929-2017
87, of Apple Creek, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Smithville-Western Care Center. He was born in West Lebanon on December 14, 1929 to the late Warren and Mable (Groff) McFarren and married Mabel M. Addlespurger on June 2, 1962. She survives. He retired from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad in Brewster with over 40 years of service. He was a member of the West Lebanon United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brian McFarren of Apple Creek; a sister, Rebecca McFarren of West Lebanon; and a brother, Tom (Sue) McFarren of Massillon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Atlee and Jerry; and sisters, Dorothy Berkey and Joann McFarren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton with Pastor Ruthann Bosley officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in West Lebanon. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
