Harry Philip Jones
age 84 of N. Canton died Friday morning in the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. Born in Rockford, Ill to the late Harry L. and Lucille (Cline) Jones he had resided here since 1971. An Army Veteran of World War II, Mr. Jones was retired from the Frito-Lay Corporation where he served as regional sales manager. He attended Grace United Church of Christ, was a member of Hoover Lodge # 770 F & AM, AASR Rite Valley of Canton, North Canton Elk's Lodge, had been active with various Hall of Fame Committees, member of Hall of Fame Luncheon Club, Board member of the Soap Box Derby, Rotary Club of which he was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, golf and was a long time member of Alliance Country Club.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Connie E. Jones in 1985 and a brother David Jones. Survivors include his wife Ann of the residence; two daughters: Vicki Jones of St. Louis, Mo. and Keri Merickel (Jeff) of Wooster; two sons: Lee Jones (Laura) of San Jose, Calif. and Alan Jones (Priscilla) of Savannah, Ga.; Step-daughter: Barbara Dodson (Mark) of Canal Fulton; Grandchildren: Diana (Aaron), Shad, Jennie, Lee, Connie, Brandon, Mackenzie, Sofie, Jackie and Irma; Great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Liam, Beckham, Nicole, Justin, Mikalia, Aiden and Gaven. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Aultman Hospital 4 North, 5 South and SICU as well as the Compassionate Care Center.
Funeral service will be on Monday, March 18, 2013 in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W., with Rev. Don Richards officiating. A private interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Compassionate Care Center 2821 Woodlawn N.W. Canton, OH 44708.
