Howard Franklin Brunner
Age 95, of Louisville passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013. He was born on Sept. 10, 1917, in Canton, Ohio to the late Mose and Mary (Mason) Brunner. Howard was a twin to Homer C. Brunner. Howard was a Louisville native and graduated from Louisville High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Irene M. Wingard in 1939; and they had two daughters, Nancy Fix and Kathy Rainieri. Howard was a retired Mason contractor and a World War II Army Veteran. The twins served on New Caledonia and island group in the South Pacific, east of Australia, from 1944 to 1946. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Howard was a 33rd Degree Mason and was a member of Julliard Lodge #460 of Louisville and Scottish Rite Valley of Canton. Howard just received his 70 year pin from the Masons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene in 1982; and his twin brother, Homer in 2010. Howard is survived by his daughters, Nancy (Ron) Fix and Kathy Rainieri; his companion of many years, Edith Buchanan; his grandchildren, Douglas Lang, Matthew Domer, Tara (Mike) Davis and Rhonda Davis; great-grandchildren, Savannah Lang, Hayden and Rylen Domer, Abbi and Cooper Davis, Tyler (Brooke) Means, Tiffany (Nathan) Reynolds and Devin Means; great-great-grandchildren, Colt and Max Means and David Reynolds; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville with Rev. Dr. Larry Hinkle officiating. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening, and one hour before services on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment, with full military honors, will be in Union Cemetery, Louisville, Ohio. Masonic services will be 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: 'Wishes Can Happen' 1310 N. Main St., N. Canton, Ohio 44720.
