James Dansizen Obituary
James "Jimmy D" Dansizen 1934-2017
Together Again
82, went home to be with the Lord, January 17, 2017 after a valiant fight. The open arms of God received a father, husband, brother, entrepreneur, community pillar, and faithful servant. A long-time area resident, Jim was born to the late Ann and Kenneth Dansizen on July 14, 1934, in Canton, Ohio and was a 1952 graduate of Timken High School. In life, he had a long love affair with the printed word and mass media communications including employment at the North Canton Sun, Massillon Independent, and the Canton Repository, culminating in his stewardship of his own publication, Our Town North Canton. In addition to his life's calling, Jim spent many years teaching at R.G. Drage Career Center as a graphics art instructor and was the owner of Dansizen Printing. Tirelessly active in the community, Jim was a devout member of Zion Lutheran Church, North Canton Rotary, North Canton Lions, New Work City, Talk About Potential (TAP), and several other local volunteer-based organizations.
Jim is preceeded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Beverly L. (nee Schauer) Dansizen in 2007; and sister, Loretta. He is survived by brothers, Kenneth, and Rick; sister, Harriet of Calif.; sons, Howard and Dale Dansizen, both of North Canton; daughter, Cindy Carney (Jay Kanous) of Burton, Mich.; grandchildren, Dale Dansizen II, David Lund, and Jason Lund; and great-granddaughter, Emma.
