James E. Wagner
age 89, passed away Monday morning September 20, 2010 at Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. He was born August 13, 1921 in Canton, Ohio to the late Howard and Louise (Massery) Wagner. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Trease (Balough) Wagner who died in 2004 and daughter Judy (Wagner) Lescallett who died in 2010. He was also preceded in death by sisters Ladyne Swartz and Delores Roden.
James is survived by sons, James D. (Carol) Wagner, John (Terri) Wagner, Joseph (Barbara) Wagner all of Canton, grandchildren Eric and Christopher Barnhouse, Heidi Roberts, Matt and Jen Englehart, John Lescallett, Denise Hardie, Michele Wagner, Julie Giove, Adam Wagner, Amanda and Laura Wagner, and nine great grandchildren.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a retiree from the U.S. Postal Service. Jim enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was also an avid golfer and bowler until recent years. He was a long standing member of St Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Fr. William B. Kraynak as celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. in the Williams Funeral Home. The family is appreciative of the care given to our Dad during his 5 plus years at DaVita Dialysis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Ohio, 2831 Prospect Ave, Cleveland, OH 44115.
