James M. Trimmer 1921-2017
96, passed away July 27, 2016. He was born on May 4, 1921 the son of Robert and Helen Trimmer. Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a man of great faith and was a member of Reedurban Presbyterian Church. He retired from Ohio Power (AEP) with 42 years of service. Jim was known around town as the jazz drummer of the Jazz Mac Trio. He also played for many years at the Westgate Lounge. Jim enjoyed golf and spending time with his family boating on the Ohio River. He and Marjory attended many NASCAR events. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim is survived by his best friend, his loving wife of 71 years, Marjory Trimmer; daughters, Jill Vona and Kay (Jeff) Hambach; grandchildren: Michael (Wendy) Mercorelli, Heather (Dick) Frase, Jason (Jennifer) Hambach and Jeremy (Brooke Semonin) Hambach; and great-grandchildren: Kloe, Sophie, June, Rocky, Iris and Eric.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Reed Funeral Home (CANTON CHAPEL), where services will be held at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Lynn Bozich Shetzer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Reedurban Presbyterian Church (1145 Perry Dr., NW, Canton, OH 44708).
