John Capeta
85, of North Canton passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014, in St. Luke's Lutheran Home of North Canton. John was born in Sona, Romania, on March 28, 1928, the son of the late Ioan and Maria (Ciltea) Capeta; also preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Aurel Binig; sister-in-law, Aurica Capeta; brother-in-law, Matie Dragicui; as well as an infant sister, Olivia. Employed as a machine operator at the Ford Motor Co. of Canton for 38 years retiring in 1991. A 32nd Degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge #60, Member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem Chapter 54.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Martha (Cojocar) Capeta, married May 20, 1956; daughter, Marilee Capeta of Columbus; two sons, John (Monette) Capeta of North Canton, Michael (Amy) Capeta of Green; two sisters, Marcella Capeta of Palm Springs, Calif., Olivia Dragicui of Sona, Romania; brother, Florin Capeta of Canton; and five grandchildren: Korey, Tyler, Connor, Emily and Nathaniel.
Funeral Services will be held in the St. George Romanian Orthodox Church of Canton at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 7, with Very Rev. Fr. George J. Treff officiating. Masonic Service will be held on Thursday at 5 p.m., Saracusta service will be held also on Thursday starting at 7:30 p.m. Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 5 p.m.–8 p.m., and Friday one-hour prior to service. All services and calling hours will be in the church. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family requests donations to St. George Romanian Orthodox Church, 144 30th.
