John R. Roberts
known by friends and family as Jack, passed away suddenly on August 20, 2017 at the age of 88.  Along with his wife, Jean, Jack was a recent resident of St. Joseph Senior Living Center in Louisville and following an afternoon visiting their longtime home, Jack was taken to Mercy Hospital where he soon passed. Jack was born and raised in North Canton, Ohio, the youngest of five children to Patrick and Eva (Miller) Roberts. He graduated from North Canton High School, began work at the Hoover Company in North Canton and later enlisted in the US Army. Jack was a Korean war veteran attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class.   Following his military service, Jack returned to the Hoover Company where he worked as a machinist until his retirement in 1986.  He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling, his trip with Jean to Hawaii for their 50th wedding anniversary among his favorites. Jack loved the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and was an active walker and gardener until his passing.  
 Jack is survived by his bride for life, Jean (Wilzoch) of 63 years; their children, Patricia Walters, Michael (Janet) and Steven (Susan).  Jack and Jean have six grandchildren, Nathan, Brandon, Erin, Colleen, Julia and Michael and four great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Eva, his brothers, Thomas and William, and sisters, Florence Sumser and Harriet Storch.  
 Jack's family will receive friends Friday from 9-10:00 a.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville.  A mass of Christian burial will be Celebrated at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville on Friday, August 25th at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Robert Miller officiating.
