age 96, of Canton passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday July 21, 2017, at The Canton Regency. June was born June 4, 1921 in Toledo, Ohio to Harvey and Ida (Weise) Klaiber. She graduated from Toledo Waite High School, attended the University of Toledo and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Malone College in Canton. She married Harold (Ed) Forrest on Nov. 1, 1946. June taught elementary school in the Perry Local School District. She was past president of the McKinley Museum Auxiliary and past president of the Contemporary Garden Club. Member of the College Club of Canton, Atwood Yacht Club, (active in Flying Scot Fleet 65), Stark County Retired Teachers Association, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, Wilderness Center, Stark County Historical Society, Canton Museum of Art, volunteer docent in Discover World at McKinley Museum, volunteer in Meals on Wheels program at Westbrook Park UM Church with her husband.
Preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret (Peg) Forrest and by her parents. Survived by her husband, Harold (Ed) Forrest, (married 70 years); son, Robert E. Forrest Sr.; daughter-in -law, Shirley Forrest. Beloved grandchildren, Rob (wife Lori) Forrest, Jill Forrest, Wess (wife Amy) Kroll, Warren (wife Laci) Kroll. Beloved great-grandchildren, Whitney Kroll, Wyatt Kroll, Haley Forrest, Kaitlyn Forrest.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. on Friday July 28, 2017 at Reed Funeral Home CANTON CHAPEL. Family and friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. on Friday prior to the service. Inurnment will take place at a later date at North Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation in June's memory to the McKinley Museum. The family invites you to visit
