Karl W. Naumann Sr.
age 80 of North Canton passed away on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. He was born Aug. 21, 1932 in Massillon, Ohio son of the late Walter D. and Glendora (Martin) Naumann. He was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School and an Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Karl retired as Captain from the Massillon Fire Department after 25 years of service. He later worked and retired from Midwestern Industries. He was a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters and Clinton Lodge #47 F. & A.M.
Karl loved his family and was a dedicated and caring husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna (Lagodich) of North Canton; son, Karl (Pam) Naumann Jr. of Massillon; daughters, Lynn (David) Shimko of North Canton and Lois Holden of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Hannah, Kevin and Steven Shimko and Anna, Erin and Adam Holden; step-grandchildren, Brooke Adams, Jason and Matthew Smeyres. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Sullivan.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Heitger Funeral Home-Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon. Funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Calvin Hamblin officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Garden in Massillon.
