Kathryn Ann Sicker (Reno)
age 88, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2017 with her husband of 59 years and family at her side. Kathryn was born on October 21, 1928 in Canton, Ohio to Fred G. Reno and Margaret Hannon Reno. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946 and held various clerical positions in Canton including the Metropolitan Brick Company until her marriage to Eugene J. Sicker on October 12, 1957. She re-entered the workforce in 1966 working as a cashier for J.C. Penney Co. until her retirement in 1988.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents and step-mother, Ruth Reno of Louisville; a grandson, Aaron Michael Sicker; and her two brothers, William and James Reno. She is survived by her husband; sister, Margaret Reno Weber; and four sons and daughters-in-law, John and Ann Sicker of Powell, Ohio, David and Lisa Sicker of Louisville, James and Judy Sicker of Massillon and Michael and Christine Sicker of The Woodlands, Texas. Kathryn was blessed with grandchildren Kristina (Doug), Allison, Emma, Andrew, Logan, William, Steven (Kari), Ryan, Krystie (Josh) and great-grandchildren Avery, Carson, Camden, Avaya, Myles and Kensie. Throughout her life, Kathryn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Canton where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and the Bereavement Committee and otherwise devoted numerous hours to parish events and helping fellow parishioners.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Monsignor Frank A. Carfagna as celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call Thursday evening, September 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Canton and again from 9-10a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Joseph's Church at 2427 Tuscarawas St. S.W., Canton, OH 44708. Those unable to attend may sign the online guestbook at www.dwilliamsfh.com.
