Kenneth R. Schumacher 1934-2017
age 83, passed away August 30, 2017 after a brief illness surrounded by his family. He was born in Louisville, Ohio, April 7, 1934 to the late Estella and Nicholas Schumacher. He enjoyed photography, woodworking, gardening and the beautification of the St. Louis Church grounds. He was always involved in a “project”. Ken previously was employed by Xcel Mold and Machine, the Hoover Company and Marks and Taylor Realty and later had his own Real Estate business. He is a 1952 graduate of Louisville High School and served in the Army in the 82nd Airborne.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and James, his sister, Loretta and his great-grandson Landon. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Madelyn; sons, Jon (Marisa), Tim (Cheri), Mark (Debbie) and Jeff (Theresa); daughters, Dianne (Chuck) Gibbs, Sindy Strauch, Lori, Sue (Scott) Adkins and Karen (Dave) Counts; grandchildren, Karen, Mike, Chris, Bri, Zach, Christi, Jen, Joe, Lindsay, Josh, Dennis, Samantha, Alex, Brittny, Brandon and Charles; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Alyssa, Anna, Jake, Emma, Alli, Jaxon, and Maddie; adopted daughter, Theresa Custer; brother, Norbert; sister, Shirley; and his beloved cat Lilly.
Ken's family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-8:00 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. A mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville with Fr. Robert Miller officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the parish cemetery.
