Madeline O.
age 85, went home to be with the Lord on July 26, 2012. She passed away at home with family by her side after a long illness. She was born Aug. 29, 1926 in Magnolia, Ohio to the late Jesse and Emma (Baltzell) Huff. She lived most her life in the Uhrichsville Dennison area, with twenty years in Minerva. She moved to Canton, Ohio with her daughter Brenda in 2008. She spent most of her life as a housekeeper. Her favorite job was housekeeping at the Dennison Police Department along with her very dear friend Elva Johnson. It always made her proud to see her finished work and hear compliments on a job well done. Madeline has kept a diary since the 1940's. She was very devoted to writing every day events down including the weather. Those will be cherished by her children. Another keep sake, her photos, she probably has about 3,000 as she kept the persons name, date and where the picture was taken on the back of each.
She is preceded in death by her husband of twenty years, Curtiss Liberty Bartholow (passed away in 1962); brothers Chester, Theodore, and John Huff; sisters, Mary Mathias, Elsie Stoller, Dorothy Hutson, and Barbara Thompson. Also her long time companion, William Taggart. She is survived by son, Dean (Nancy) Bartholow of Minerva, Ohio; daughter, Margie (Tom) Gardner of East Canton; daughter, Brenda L. Ballard of Canton, Ohio. She has six grandchildren, Dean (Lisa) Bartholow of Kentucky, Curt and Brian Madden of Minerva, Ohio, Priscilla (Brian) Strader of Canton, Ohio, Tim Bartholow of Minerva, Ohio and Todd J. Maze of Canton, Ohio. She has five great-grandchildren, Tiffany (Bobby) Kirby of Kentucky, Joshua Bartholow of Kentucky, Jennifer Bartholow of Canton, Ohio, Mikayla and Jordyn Strader of Canton, Ohio, along with many nieces and nephews. She loved her family more than anything and spending time with them was what she enjoyed most. She is a member of The Wildwood Chapel in East Canton, Ohio. Many thanks to the aides from Interim Healthcare especially Meghan and Shirley.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2012 at Bartley Funeral Home in Minerva, Ohio with Pastor Simon Horn officiating. Calling Hours will be 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2012.
