Margarita K.
age 96 peacefully left this earth to enter into heaven and to reunite with her loved ones on Aug. 20, 2013 at St. Luke Lutheran Community. She was born in Lipa City, Philippines to the late Don Bartolome and Maria Sales Katigbak. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Pedro Katigbak, who was the Country Manager of Parke-Davies, Philippines and co-founder of St. Cupertino School for the Mentally Challenged. Margarita was a successful entrepreneur and was active in the Catholic Women's League. She was also a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church of North Canton. Also preceding her in death were her children, Juanito, Luigi and Margie Katigbak; brothers, Dr. Raymond Katigbak and Tirso Katigbak; sister, Brigida Katigbak FMM; granddaughter, Cathy Katigbak; and great-granddaughter, Sienna Emerson Proia.
Survived by her children, Philip Katigbak, Nestor (Caroline) Katigbak, Mariza (Ron) Meredith, and Francis (Evelyn) Katigbak, all of Ohio, Wally (Daphne) Katigbak and Miriam (Raul) Cruz, all of California and Bernard Katigbak of Manila, Philippines; and grandchildren; brothers, Nicos (Beth), Luis (Ginny) and Pedro (Tessie) Katigbak; sisters, Dr. Nieves Castillo and Simforosa Castillo.
A Memorial Mass, celebrated by Msgr. James A. Clarke will be held on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, North Canton. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Clement/St. Philomena Shrine, 216 Wooster St., Navarre, OH 44662 in her memory. In keeping with her wishes, Margarita will be cremated and her ashes will be placed next to her husband in their family crypt in Manila. The family will plan an inurnment at a later date.
