Marguerite Shaw Obituary
Marguerite Mullen Clouse Shaw
June 18, 1919-Feb. 21, 2017
Marguerite (Rite) was one of 12 children born to Effie and Virgil Mullen, from Wooster, Ohio. She often said she loved two good men and married them both. She married Glen Clouse in 1940 and they resided in Wooster until his death in 1972. In 1979, Marguerite married Gerald Shaw and moved to Canton, Ohio. When Gerald passed away in 1995, she continued to reside in Canton until 2005, when she moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jay Frey.
During 97 years on this earth, Marguerite lived a very full life. She loved to dance, bowl, golf, and garden. She especially loved beautiful flowers. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family throughout her life and will always be remembered for her love of Skip-bo. She was an active member of the "Red Hat's Society", both in Santa Fe and Canton. There was not a day that went by that she didn't get up, get dressed, put on her make-up, and fix her hair in anticipation of the day ahead.
Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Carol Clouse Frey; a stepson, Dan Shaw; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a warm, caring, giving woman, who loved to entertain and spend time with friends and family...and she will be missed by all whose lives were enriched by knowing her.
A memorial celebration of a life well-lived will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Turkey Foot Heights Pavillion, located at 76 Lake Front Drive (Portage Lakes), Green, Ohio. Contact Dan Shaw (269) 929-3425 for any questions you may have.
