Marlene S. Bishop
age 74, of Louisville, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, Aug. 26, 2013 after a two-year battle with Pancreatic cancer. She was born July 26, 1939 in Summerfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Andrew and Hazel (Davis) Dalrymple. She worked for Dr. Blumentals and retired from the Louisville Medical Center. Marlene enjoyed spending her free time participating in the Red Hat Society, garage sale shopping, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Marlene is preceded in death by sons, David and Tom Bishop.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Henry Bishop; her sons, Michael (Shelby) Bishop and John (Lisa) Bishop; daughter, Carolyn (Rich) Hallas; sisters, Carolyn Holben and Christine Young; brother, Ronnie Dalrymple; grandchildren, Brenden Bishop, Morgan Bishop, Logan Bishop, Tom Hallas, and Austin Hallas.
In keeping with her wishes, a private service will be conducted for her family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at pancan.org. Special thanks to Dr. Ahmed and the staff at Tri-County Hematology & Oncology Assoc. for the wonderful care offered to Marlene. Arrangements are at the direction of the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home of Louisville.
