Michael McDonald Obituary
of Louisville passed away on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013. He was born on April 24, 1958 in Detroit, Mich. Michael devoted 32 years to the Stark County Sheriff's Office, a job which he loved and was passionate about.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Janet McDonald and his brother, John McDonald. Mike is survived by the love of his life and wife of 34 years, Judy McDonald; his son, Bradley McDonald; his daughter and son in-law, Kelly and Gabe Moser; his sisters and brother-in-law, Joanne and James Caplea, Laura McDonald, Mary Lou McDonald; sister-in-law, Kelly McDonald; his father and mother-in-law, Paul and Norma Zwick; his in-laws, Rick and Linda Heithoff, Rose Elmerick, John and Sandy Swigert and his beloved nieces and nephews.
Mike's family would like to express their extreme gratitude to his caring oncologist, nurse practitioner and the staff at the North Canton Medical Foundation Cancer Center. They would also like to thank the SCSO family for their unending support.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville with Fr. Lawrence Frient officiating. Calling hours will be 3-7 p.m. Monday at the Canton Civic Center in the McKinley Room. F.O.P. services will be at 2:45 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in the St. Louis Church Cemetery, Louisville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to support local cancer patients through the Cancer relief Fund at North Canton Medical Foundation, 6046 Whipple Ave. NW, North Canton, Ohio 44720. Stier-Israel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

McDonald Family, in the fall my family and I didn't know who to vote for in the Sheriff's race. Two of my brothers each asked a police officer; one was a friend, the other was a stranger. Both said, "Vote for McDonald, we want to work for him." We did; he won. I'm glad that he had the victory, even though he was too ill to fulfill it.
