Michael Zelasko 1948-2017
69, passed away peacefully at Aultman Hospital, Canton, Ohio early Saturday morning, September 16, 2017. He was born January 2, 1948 in Wellsville, Ohio. The son of Nick and Dorothy Zelasko. He attended Saint Mark's Seminary High School for three years, then graduated from Wellsville High School. He was an Ohio State graduate. Mike started his career as a teacher and coach, but his career took many different paths throughout the years. He was foreman at Crucible Steel, and then went on to be a Health and Safety Environmental Manager. This position took his family to Tennessee, Kentucky, and Texas. Finally returning back to his roots in Ohio, where he retired from Hydrodec in Canton, Ohio in 2014. Mike was a member of the Saint Louis Catholic Church in Louisville, Ohio. He was a cantor and a member of the choir, where he will be sadly missed by all who were blessed enough to hear his beautiful voice. His passions were his family, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and fishing.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 43 years, Angela Marie (Bigowsky) Zelasko. A son, Mark at home. Daughter, Sara (Tim) Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio. Grandchildren, Bennett and Kendyll Williams. Brother Ed (Cindy) and a sister Kathy (Scott) Daniels, both of Wellsville, Ohio. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill and a sister, JoAnn.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will take place Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville, Ohio. A church luncheon will be provided directly after the service.
