Nellie M. Hanft
88, went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2017 after an extended illness. Nellie was a woman of great faith and attended Central Baptist Church on West Tuscarawas. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Dewey and Lana Sexton; husband, Homer K. Hanft; daughter, Brenda Irene Pemberton; great-grandson, James Muir; father of her children and life long friend, Vernon B. Pemberton; and nine siblings (two sisters and seven brothers). Nellie is survived by her loving family, daughters, Linda Simpson and Carol (James) Royer; son, Vernon B. (Lou Dawn) Pemberton; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the staff at Crossroads Hospice for all their care and comfort given to our family. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Reed Funeral Home (CANTON CHAPEL) where services will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Randy Newcomer officiating.
