Nolan 'Bryce' Horn
age 86 of Carrollton passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. He was born Jan. 30, 1927 in Lost Corner, Ark. to Dewitt Christopher Horn and Viva Rhea (Napier) Horn. Bryce worked at Huebner's before retiring in 1989. He has lived in Carrollton since 1953. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was stationed in Japan. Bryce enjoyed hunting, and spending time with his family.
Bryce is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Mathis) Horn of 63 years. They were married Dec. 24, 1949. Other survivors are two sons, Gary (Tammy) Horn of New Harrisburg, Ohio and Glenn Shoffit of Carrollton, Ohio; two brothers, Larry (Marnie) Horn of Sarasota, Fla. and J.D. Horn of Naples, Fla.; three grandchildren, Cory Horn, Tammy Cairns and Terry Shoffit; five great-grandchildren, Bryce Horn, Amber Cairns, Emily Cairns, Haley Cairns, Maia Kinsey. Bryce was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ferris Gordon Horn; three sisters, Inez June DeHart, Lita Nadine Ruhccio, Starr Elaine Richards; a step-great-grandson, Aaron Richard Cairns.
Calling hours for Bryce will be Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 6-7 p.m. at the Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ohio. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Shinn Funeral Home in Russellville, Ark. The calling hours at the Shinn Funeral Home will be Thursday from 6-7 p.m. Burial will follow at Nogo Cemetery.
