Phyllis Elaine Hoffmann (Teeters)

Age 85, passed away September 7, 2018 at her home. She was born in Columbus, Ohio and after their marriage, lived the majority of her adult life in Canton, Ohio, Mercer, Pa. and currently Louisville, Ohio. She was a 1951 graduate of St. Mary's High School (German Village) and had attended The Ohio State University. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a preschool teacher and Girl Scout leader for many years. Her passions in life were her family, sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading – especially the history of Ohio, ancestry, scrap booking and canning summer fruits and vegetables. She was a loyal fan of The Ohio State Buckeye football and basketball teams. She continued to follow the teams from St. Thomas Aquinas, where her girls attended high school.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lawrence E. Hoffmann Jr.; daughters, Mary Jean (Christopher) Vogt of Hebron, Ky., Kathleen (James) Jordan of Akron, Christine (Mark) Bagley of Alliance, and Denise Hoffmann of Park City, Utah; grandchildren, Shawn (Morgan) Bagley, Lauren (Mat Marrash) Bagley, Kyle Jordan, Amanda (Luke Simmons) Jordan, Nicholas (Alarra) Jordan, Danielle and David Vogt; brothers, Kenneth Teeters of Raleigh, N.C. and Walter (Terry) Teeters of Columbus, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Alan (Mary) Hoffman of Parma, Stephen Hoffmann of Jacksonville, Fla. and William (Yvonne) Hoffmann of San Luis Obispo, Calf.; several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins living in the Columbus area. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fillmore Virgil and Ursula Louise (Becker) Teeters; and brother, Robert Ellsworth Teeters.

Phyllis's family will receive friends Wednesday, September 12th from 5-7 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the Servant Church with Msg. Gaetano and Fr. Miller as celebrants. Committal services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 10:30 -11:00 a.m. at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Thomas Aquinas High School, the Akron/Canton Food Bank or . The family would also like to thank Aultman Hospice (Kelly, Laura and Marie) for the compassionate care given to her and to her family.
