Raymond E. Keevert
Raymond E. Keevert, age 67, died at Laurels of Massillon on Tuesday, January 16, 2007. He was born on Saturday, December 16, 1939, in Wheeling, WV and was son of the late Otto Z. and Thelma I. (Robinson) Keevert. He retired from Republic/LTV where he worked for over 44 years and belonged to the Steel Workers Union. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, AARP, enjoyed golf, bowling, was an avid fan of baseball and football. He served in the Navy from 1960 to 1964. He is survived by wife of nearly 34 years, Bonita K. (Stitz) Keevert of Canton; sister and brother-in-law, Bettie and Ray Blair of Florida, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Jim and Sue Stitz of Canton, and Dale and Jan Stitz of Massillon; nieces, nephews and grand nieces. Funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 at 11 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Service-Jackson Chapel. Rev. Benson Akpora will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 A.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Lung Association, 1300 Christmas Seal Dr. NW, Canton, OH 44709, or American Cancer Society, 925 S. Main St., N. Canton, OH 44720, or Disabled American Veterans, St. Mihiel Chapter Post 6, 2821 17th St SW, Canton, OH 44706. Bonnie - We are friends of the Haughtons and Jan and I keep in touch by email. We are so sorry for your loss and will be remembering you in our prayers. Oh Bonnie, this AM I was thinking about you and Ray ...so I pulled up the Repository online and there it was. I am so sorry and want you to know I have you in my prayers...I just wish I was there to attend the service....I am so sad for you.
