Richard “Dick” F. Cocklin
83, passed away Aug. 2, 2017. He was born Oct. 22, 1933 to Forest and Anne Cocklin. Dick grew up in Canton Ohio and graduated in 1951 from Timken High School. Dick was an avid antique car enthusiast restoring many cars including a 1905 St. Louis for the Timken Company. He was an inventor, an ever positive “Can Do” man and a wonderful steward of his church, North Canton Grace United Methodist.
Dick was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol; son, Richard “Rick” Cocklin, Jr.; his parents, Forest and Anne Cocklin; brothers, Jerry and Thomas Cocklin. He is survived by his daughters, Lorraine “Lorrie” Harbert (Greg) and Karen VanBoxel (Andy); grandchildren, Bobby DeBois (Kristen), Bryan DeBois (Tiffany), Barry DeBois, Tyler Harbert, Samantha Harbert, Madalynne VanBoxel, Ricky VanBoxel; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Carter, Grace, Mason, Max, Rowan; brother and sisters in-law, Rod and Barb Collier, Don and Barb Cobb, Evelyn Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Family will receive friends TODAY, Friday, Aug. 4, 2017 at Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. N.W., North Canton, Ohio 44720 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Service will be held Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at 10 a.m. at North Canton Grace United Methodist Church, 1720 Schneider St N.W., North Canton, Ohio 44720. Internment in Saint Jacobs Cemetery, Lake Township. Memorial donations may be made to North Canton Grace United Methodist Church.
