Richard G. Shreffler Obituary
85, of Navarre, passed away
early Saturday, October 7, 2017,
and took up his final residence
in heaven. Born August 10,
1932, in Punxsutawney, Pa., a
son to the late Myron and
Bessie (Hilliard) Shreffler,
Richard was an honorably discharged
veteran of the U.S.
Army. Following his time in the
service he relocated to Massillon
in 1955. He went on to work
for the Timken Company – Steel Division, investing 33 years of
faithful service prior to his retirement as a steel inspector in 1997.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Myron Jr., and Elwood
"Junior"; and sisters, Dorothy and Wanda. Richard is survived
by his devoted wife, Marjean (Haas) Shreffler – they would
have been married 60 years this coming December; sons, Dennis
(Janet), Gary and Greg (Julia) Shreffler, all of the area; grandchildren:
Malissa, Ashley (Ryan) and Kole; and great-grandson,
Zevin. Also surviving are his sister, Joanne Shreffler Hollman, of
Massillon; and his brother, Robert, of Roanoke, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October
13, 2017, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre.
Pastor Brian Allen will officiate, and burial with military honors
will follow in Union Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive
guests Thursday evening, October 12th., from 6-8:00 p.m., and
one hour prior to the services on Friday, from 10-11:00 a.m., in
the funeral home. The family has suggested memorial contributions
made in care of Great Lakes Caring Hospice or the Humane
